Las Vegas is an amazing town for martial arts including BJJ
Las Vegas is an amazing town for fight sports, including MMA, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Master Ricardo, one of the original black belts under Carlson Gracie, is a well known figure in the Las Vegas BJJ scene. Master Ricardo moved from Brazil to the US in 2001 to help Frank Mir with his Jiu Jitsu in preparation for his title run.

Originally Master Ricardo started his Las Vegas BJJ career under the Carlson Gracie affiliation running the very successful Carlson Gracie Las Vegas Jiu Jitsu team. One of the largest Jiu Jitsu teams in the Las Vegas Area, Master Ricardo’s team won many team titles and trophies over the years including NAGA and Grapplers Quest.
After years in the local Las Vegas Jiu Jitsu scene, Master Ricardo’s past students are a who’s who of black belts and instructors in the Las Vegas area. Many of the other gyms around town have instructors that started under Master Cavalcanti’s tutelage.

There are many high level local Las Vegas BJJ Tournaments
Another advantage to the Las Vegas BJJ scene is the availability of Jiu Jitsu competitions. Everyone loves to come to Vegas to enjoy everything the city can offer, the same goes for Las Vegas BJJ competitions. Many high level competitions including the IBJJF world championships are held in Las Vegas. A broad range of tournaments for all ages and skill levels are available for local Vegas BJJ competitors. Participation in Jiu Jitsu competitions isn’t required for RCA students but if you’re interested in competing just ask Master Ricardo for more info and he can get you started on being part of our Vegas Jiu Jitsu competition team. All ages and belt levels will have the opportunity to compete. Even if you don’t want to participate yourself, come out to cheer on your teammates and watch some high level BJJ.
